The last car personally approved by Enzo Ferrari

The Ferrari F40, a legend created in 1987 to mark the marque’s 40th anniversary. The last car personally approved by Enzo Ferrari. Its defining trait is extreme lightness: a body of Kevlar and carbon fiber on an aluminum chassis. Total weight was just 1,100 kg.

A 2.9-liter twin-turbo V8 delivered 478 hp. A 0-100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds and a top speed above 324 km/h made it the first production car to break the 320 km/h barrier. No radio, no air conditioning, not even proper door handles, only racing minimalism. The F40 was built for the track but was approved for public roads.
