The legendary legacy of master salesman Max Hoffman, without whom sunny Los Angeles is hard to imagine

Max Hoffman, Porsche’s sales representative in the United States, advised the company to build open-top, lower-cost versions of the 356 that would sell very well in the American car market.

With its low, raked windshield (which could be removed), bucket seats and small folding top, the Speedster was an instant sales hit, especially in Southern California.
