Class winner, the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans
A dark chapter in the history of endurance racing, since this was the year of the tragic Mercedes crash that killed more than 80 spectators. The race was nonetheless completed, and in the shadow of that tragedy the winners were forever recorded: the Jaguar D-Type, car number 6, and the class winner, Porsche 550 Spyder, car number 37.
